Payroll Implementation Consultant
Payroll & Implementation Consultant
Tultitlán, Estado de México | Hybrid | 6-month project
The opportunity
As our Payroll & Implementation Consultant, you will own the end-to-end setup of the bi-weekly payroll and Time & Attendance (T&A) solution for this population, working with our payroll vendor Strada and integrating with Workday. You will be the go-to subject matter expert and project lead: a hands-on role with real impact, high visibility with our global team, and the chance to build something from scratch.
What you'll do
- Lead the implementation end-to-end: discovery, process design, configuration, testing, parallel runs, go-live and hypercare.
- Manage the vendor and integrations: partner with Strada and our internal Tech and HR teams on deliverables, timelines and the Workday, T&A and Payroll integration points.
- Design payroll for a plant environment: build weekly or bi-weekly payroll and T&A workflows covering shifts, attendance, leave, overtime and premium pay rules.
- Make sure the numbers are right: validate gross-to-net calculations, tax rules and earnings, and run variance analysis between the legacy and new payroll.
- Own testing and go-live readiness: run SIT, UAT, parallel payroll cycles, defect management and data reconciliation.
- Manage risk proactively: identify, communicate and mitigate integration, data and compliance risks before they impact employees.
- Hand over to BAU: build the cutover and hypercare plans, keep the work audit-ready, and leave the operations team fully enabled.
What you bring
- Proven experience leading end-to-end payroll implementations with a large regional or global payroll vendor. Strada (formerly Alight Payroll) is a strong plus, as is Workday integration experience.
- Hands-on experience with weekly or bi-weekly payroll in manufacturing, plant or industrial environments with a unionized workforce.
- Solid knowledge of Blue Collar workforce requirements: shift planning, time tracking, overtime and Mexican labor compliance.
- Fluent English (C1/C2). You'll report to a manager based in Europe, and interviews will be held in English.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence without direct authority, across HR, Controlling, the vendor, global teams and plant operations.
- A high sense of accountability and ownership of results, with a risk-aware, analytical mindset.
- Comfort working as a hands-on individual contributor (no direct reports) in a fast-moving, evolving organization.
- A collaborative, low-ego style and clear communication.
