Payroll Officer

Based in our North Ryde Support Office and reporting to the Payroll Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join our team during an exciting period of growth and change. As an integral member of the People Tech team, you will help deliver accurate and timely payroll for more than 7,000 employees across weekly and fortnightly pay cycles.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the accurate and timely administration of payroll across the group.
  • Process weekly and fortnightly payroll end to end, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
  • Maintain accurate payroll, personnel, and time-and-attendance records, including new starter set-up, employee changes, and data transfers.
  • Assist with payroll activities including superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG, workers compensation, and award compliance.
  • Prepare accurate reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Develop, document, and improve payroll procedures in line with current legislation and business requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with store, clinic, support office, and senior leadership teams.
  • Respond to payroll enquiries in a timely, helpful, and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the payroll team and wider business to improve payroll processes and service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and support a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience processing high-volume payroll in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, including SAP EC Payroll, and time-and-attendance systems such as UKG.
  • Experience working in, or supporting, a multi-site environment.
  • Experience interpreting and applying awards, which will be highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a friendly and engaging approach.
