Medication Technician (Med Tech) – Personal Care Home

Are you a compassionate and reliable caregiver who takes pride in helping others? Our warm and welcoming Personal Care Home is looking for a Medication Technician to join our care team!

As a Med Tech, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive the highest quality care. You’ll be responsible for safely assisting with daily living activities, medications and supporting residents with kindness and respect.

Shifts:

3:00 pm -11:30 pm

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance according to health care provider's orders
  • Educate and supervise resident who self-administer medication such as subcutaneous and oral.
  • Maintain awareness of medication interactions and side effects
  • Monitor health, safety, and well -being of the residents. Report any changes in resident's physical condition and/or behavior to Administrator.
  • Maintain resident records regarding medication distributions, leisure activities, incidents, and observations.
  • Properly store medication and equipment and keeps the medication room clean and orderly.
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and eating.
  • Encourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities. Promote activities to enthusiastically to pique residents' interest.
  • Assist in keeping the environment safe for residents.
  • Respond to resident emergencies; provide first aid assistance
  • Assist with finding staff for call offs and assisting with scheduling as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications and requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Complete state certification for medication administration
  • 1 year experience preferred
  • Meet state related requirements.
  • Must meet CTKM pre-hire requirements
  • Ability to work in a team setting and be a team player.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional approach with coworkers and residents.
  • Possess excellent customer and organizational skills.
  • Must be available to work every other Weekend.
