PCB Designer

Summary

Designs and develops printed circuit boards for electronic products, converting hardware schematics into efficient, manufacturable PCB layouts. Daily work spans component placement, routing, DRC, signal integrity/EMI control, thermal management, multilayer stack-ups, and generating manufacturing outputs using tools like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or KiCad.

We are seeking a skilled PCB Designer to design and develop high-quality printed circuit boards for electronic products. The candidate will collaborate with hardware engineers to convert schematics into efficient, manufacturable PCB layouts.

1. Schematic Understanding
  • Read and interpret circuit schematics provided by hardware engineers
  • Understand component functions, connections, and design intent
2. Component Selection & Placement
  • Choose correct footprints from libraries
  • Place components logically for:
  • Short signal path
  • Better performance
  • Easy assembly and testing
3. PCB Layout & Routing
  • Route electrical connections (tracks) between components
    Optimize routing for: Signal integrity
    Minimal noise and interference
Work on single-layer, double-layer, or multilayer boards
4. Design Rule Check (DRC)
  • Apply manufacturing and electrical constraints
  • Ensure spacing, width, and clearance rules are followed
  • Use tools like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or KiCad
5. Signal Integrity & EMI Control

  • Manage high-speed signals
  • Reduce noise, crosstalk, and electromagnetic interference
  • Ensure stable and reliable circuit performance
6. Thermal Management
  • Design for heat dissipation
  • Use copper pours, vias, and heat sinks where required
7. Multilayer Stack-up Design
  • Define layer structure (signal, power, ground layers)
  • Ensure proper grounding and power distribution
8. Manufacturing Output
  • Generate:
    • Gerber files
    • Drill files
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Assembly drawings
9. Prototype Support & Debugging
  • Assist in PCB testing and bring-up
  • Identify and fix design issues
  • Update design revision
