As a Peer Specialist with the Urgent Care Mental Health team in Cumberland County, you will provide mental health support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Our program offers an alternative for those who are experiencing mental health crisis symptoms and are not in need of psychiatric hospitalization. As a Peer Specialist, you will strive to assist individuals with building and reinforcing coping skills and support networks. This program emphasizes wellness and recovery principals to not only assist individuals through their current crisis but future challenges as well.

Schedule: Full-time; 40 hours; Monday - Friday with one evening shift per week 11:30AM to 8:00PM; Saturday 8:30AM-5:00PM (Saturday is rotating shift and is worked in lieu of working a weekday shift.)

Salary: $19.25/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate documentation for new program consumers
  • Welcome clients and orient them to the program
  • Escort consumers to community-based appointments

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma required;

  • Must also possess experience as a consumer of mental health services and demonstrate volunteer or paid experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.

  • Valid Driver's License in good standing
