People Analytics Operations Manager
Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Reviews and approves recommendations for functional programs. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedule.
Department Overview
The mission of the Enterprise Information and Analytics (EIA) department is to advance UCSF’s institutional priorities by enhancing access to and the use of data and analytics, including appropriate data platforms and data governance, in a manner that meets the unique needs across the education, research, and care mission areas. The department archives its goals by working with clinical, research, education, and business partners to organize, integrate, govern, and transform UCSF’s data assets into actionable insight and information.
UCSF People Analytics is a high-value analytics program that supports and advances UCSF’s mission of to develop proactive, strategic, and predictive analytics that help UCSF Health attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent. People Analytics owns enterprise-wide assets for UCSF as a whole, used for both operational and analytical purposes, as well as departmental and business assets to drive business insights and decisions.
Reporting to the Director of People Analytics at UCSF, this role oversees daily operations for the People Analytics team and provides guidance to team members on internal processes and tools. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines optimal deployment of resources to meet schedules and achieve goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Min 8 years of experience with a programming language such as SQL / R/ Python
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience leading people or direct supervisory experience.
- Experience in the management of ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, to include the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies.
- Experienced in leading change management activities and managing their impact across the unit or department.
- Requires thorough knowledge of database management systems sufficient for strategic planning, technology assessment, and direction.
- Requires knowledge of technical architecture, maintenance, planning, and integration strategies.
- Critical thinking, persuasion/negotiation, mentoring, leadership/management, problem solving, and human resource policies and procedures relating to management responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong technical database systems management abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of technical concepts and basic operating principles of data communications, computer hardware, vendor IT products, and software.
