Role Summary
The People Analyst will support the Insights & Analytics team by transforming people data into clear, accurate, and actionable insights that help leaders make better workforce decisions. This role will partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and business stakeholders to understand business questions, identify the data needed to answer them, analyze trends, and synthesize findings into simple, compelling reports and recommendations.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in HR data, reporting, and analytics who is comfortable working in Power BI and Oracle Cloud, including OTBI reporting across Human Capital Management and Oracle Recruiting Cloud modules. The People Analyst will build relationships with HR partners and act as a data consultant, building deep knowledge of their business, and support their data-driven decision making which may include delivering recurring reports, ad hoc analyses, and scorecards while ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and usability.
Key Responsibilities People Reporting and Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and enhance people reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analyses that support workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee lifecycle insights, engagement, performance, retention, and other HR priorities.
- Fulfill recurring and ad hoc people data requests, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, relevant, and easy for stakeholders to understand.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities that can inform business and talent decisions.
Oracle Cloud and OTBI Reporting
- Build, modify, and maintain OTBI reports within Oracle Cloud HCM and Oracle Recruiting Cloud to support HR, Talent Acquisition, and business reporting needs.
- Extract, validate, organize, and prepare people data from Oracle Cloud and other HR systems for analysis, reporting, and visualization.
- Troubleshoot report logic, data discrepancies, and reporting issues, partnering with HRIS, Service Delivery, and HR and Finance Partners as needed.
Business Consultation and Data Translation
- Partner with HRBPs and Talent Acquisition to understand business priorities and the questions they are trying to answer, asking thoughtful questions and translating those needs into data requirements, relevant metrics, analytical approaches, and reporting solutions.
- Synthesize analysis into simple, clear, and compelling narratives that help stakeholders understand what the data means and what actions may be needed.
- Support stakeholders in interpreting dashboards, reports, and metrics, including helping users understand definitions, trends, limitations, and appropriate use of the data.
Data Visualization and Storytelling
- Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences in a way that is approachable, simple, focused, accurate, and decision oriented.
- Partner with team members to support Power BI dashboards and related reporting assets, including data validation, requirements gathering, testing, and user feedback.
- Apply data visualization best practices to present information in a visually compelling and easy-to-understand way.
Data Quality, Governance, and Confidentiality
- Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned to agreed-upon definitions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect employee data privacy in all reporting, analysis, and stakeholder interactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, documentation, and repeatability.
- Work with HRIS, Service Delivery, Talent Acquisition, and HRBP partners to resolve data issues and improve reporting processes to increase consistency and confidence in people data.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Psychology, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in HR reporting, people analytics, talent analytics, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
- Experience working with Oracle Cloud, creating or modifying OTBI reports and agents, preferably across both Human Capital Management and Oracle Recruiting Cloud modules.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with structured datasets.
- Ability to translate business questions into data needs, analytical approaches, and clear reporting outputs.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality work.
- Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle confidential employee data appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ORC reporting and recruiting metrics, such as pipeline health, source effectiveness, time to fill, offer activity, candidate flow, and hiring outcomes.
- Power BI development experience, including dashboard development, data modeling, or DAX.
- Basic SQL experience or familiarity with database concepts.
- Exposure to research methods, survey analysis, statistical concepts, or employee listening programs.
