People & Culture Co-Ordinator

Board Intelligence is a technology and advisory firm on a mission to make boards more effective, and through them, build better businesses and benefit society.

Over twenty years we have established ourselves as the market leader in governance and board effectiveness, trusted by more than 80,000 directors, executives, and governance professionals globally, including across the Fortune 500, FTSE 100, and OMX 30. That trust has been earned through depth of insight, rigorous advisory work, and a track record that newer entrants simply cannot replicate.

We have invested in applied AI since 2020, well ahead of the market, and that early conviction has paid off. Our AI-powered platform and smart board advisor give us a competitive advantage that is widening, not narrowing. In 2024, K1 Investment Management, the leading B2B Enterprise SaaS investor, backed us to accelerate that position further. We are now growing fast, with a proven commercial model spanning both mid-market and enterprise, and a product suite that has become a necessary addition in high-stakes board environments.

The people joining us now will shape how we scale. We are deliberate about how we do that. Our founders and leadership team are deeply invested in keeping the culture that got us here: thoughtful, high calibre, and genuinely human. Ambition and balance are not in competition at Board Intelligence.

If you want to work at the intersection of AI and governance, on problems that matter at the highest level, this is a strong place to be.

Our Mission
We unleash the potential of organisations through the science of board effectiveness, building better businesses and benefitting society.

The Role

Board Intelligence’s People & Culture function is building an AI-first operating model, and this role is central to making that function work day to day. The P&C Coordinator provides high-quality operational and administrative support across the full function, is the first point of contact for People queries, and brings genuine energy to how culture shows up across the business.

This role doesn’t require an HR background. What it requires is someone who is excellent with systems, technology, and producing polished reporting and presentations, paired with strong emotional intelligence, because this person is often the first human a colleague speaks to with a People query. It works in close partnership with the People Advisor day to day (including supporting payroll, which the People Advisor owns), with a dotted line into the Senior Talent Partner for recruitment coordination, and plays an active role in culture activity led by the PX Advisor. This is a four-day-a-week in-office role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for People & Culture queries, using automation and AI-enabled workflows to resolve first-level queries at pace, and triaging second-level queries to the right team member with clear context and a suggested next step.
  • Support the People Advisor with monthly payroll inputs, new starters, leavers, salary changes and benefit updates — the People Advisor owns payroll; this role provides the coordination and accuracy that keeps it running smoothly.
  • Coordinate visa applications, renewals and right to work processes, maintaining an accurate tracker and flagging upcoming renewals well in advance.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle administratively: onboarding, probation tracking, documentation, and offboarding.
  • Act as day-to-day system administrator for the HRIS, managing user access, workflows and first-level query resolution.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of people data across HR systems, producing clean, professionally presented reports and presentations for the CPO and wider team.
  • Act as a visible culture champion, living and breathing Board Intelligence’s values day to day, and bring innovative, energising ideas to how the People function shows up for employees.
  • Participate actively in employee engagement and culture activity led by the PX Advisor — socials, events, recognition moments — contributing ideas and hands-on delivery.
  • Support recruitment coordination, early careers logistics and candidate experience alongside the Senior Talent Partner.

Person Specification

Required Skills and Experience

  • No HR background required — what matters far more is genuine strength in system administration, technology, and producing professional-standard reporting and presentations.
  • Confident and proactive user of digital tools, AI platforms and automation, comfortable being the person who makes systems work for everyone else.
  • Strong emotional intelligence — this is a first point of contact role for colleagues with real, sometimes sensitive, People queries.
  • Genuinely energised by culture and events, not just administering them but bringing creative ideas to how they land.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail, able to manage multiple processes and deadlines without errors.
  • Comfortable working from the office four days a week; this is a role built on being visibly present and available.

Our Values

Our values aren’t just words on a wall. They capture our culture, and the behaviours we see and strive for every day.

  • Kindness & caring — We celebrate brilliance that comes without big egos or sharp elbows, and we win while raising each other up.
  • Curiosity & innovation — Entrepreneurship is in our blood. We’re inquisitive, challenge convention, think big, and move fast.
  • Remarkable quality & service — We take joy from delighting our clients and pride ourselves on ensuring every interaction is exceptional.
