People Operations Analyst
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a People Operations Analyst based in India.
This is an opportunity to join a global People Operations function as an early team member supporting employees and People teams across multiple regions. You will own day-to-day HR operations, employee inquiries, HRIS administration, and onboarding coordination with a strong focus on accuracy and service quality. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys structured work, takes ownership, and can operate independently in a remote environment. You will work with systems such as Workday and an HR helpdesk while partnering with regional People Operations, Payroll, Benefits, Legal, and People Business Partners. As AI-assisted workflows and automation evolve, you'll have opportunities to help document processes, identify inefficiencies, and improve how People Operations is delivered. This is a role where strong execution today can grow into broader process improvement and operational ownership over time.
Accountabilities:
- Manage Tier 1–2 employee inquiries through the HR helpdesk, handling questions related to policies, employment verification, leave, benefits, and other People Operations topics.
- Triage requests requiring specialist support from Benefits, Payroll, Legal, or regional People Operations teams, providing complete context and clear handoffs.
- Meet established response and resolution SLAs while identifying recurring themes and patterns in employee requests.
- Maintain accurate employee lifecycle data in Workday, including job changes, compensation updates, terminations, leaves of absence, location changes, and new-hire information.
- Conduct regular HRIS data-quality checks, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate corrections with regional teams and Payroll.
- Follow required offboarding and SOX controls accurately and within established timelines.
- Support People Business Partners with administrative activities such as reporting, action-item tracking, materials preparation, and operational follow-through.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including background checks, IT provisioning, welcome logistics, and handoffs between Talent Acquisition, IT, and business teams.
- Provide operational support for India-specific People needs as the organization's presence in the country develops.
- Assist with global employee programs, events, and other operational initiatives as required.
- Document processes and day-to-day workflows to help identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
- Participate in the rollout and testing of AI-assisted People Operations workflows and provide practical feedback on process friction and opportunities for improvement.
- 2–3+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, HR administration, shared services, or a closely related analytical or administrative role.
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS; Workday experience is strongly preferred, while experience with another enterprise HRIS is also valuable.
- Familiarity with core HR administration processes, including employee documentation, onboarding and offboarding, leave processing, data management, and data privacy.
- Experience handling employee inquiries in a shared-services, HR helpdesk, or similar support environment.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing employee data, documentation, and HRIS transactions.
- Excellent written English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees and internal stakeholders.
- Strong personal accountability and the ability to identify, escalate, and resolve issues without requiring constant supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fully remote environment, manage priorities, organize your workload, and consistently close the loop on tasks.
- Curiosity about HR technology, systems, automation, and the evolving role of AI in People Operations.
- A continuous-improvement mindset and willingness to learn new tools, processes, and ways of working.
- Must have the legal right to work in India.
- Fully remote position based in India.
- Opportunity to work as part of a global People Operations organization supporting multiple regions.
- Exposure to HR technology, Workday, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging People Operations automation.
- Opportunity to contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives as the function evolves.
- Potential for role growth from transactional operations into broader process and operational improvement responsibilities.
- Collaborative, globally distributed working environment.
- The source job description does not specify salary, healthcare coverage, bonus, or other additional benefits.
