Your Mission in Action

The People Operations (PO) Clerk is responsible for personnel file maintenance for ORR, recordkeeping, vaccine records auditing and other People and Culture team assignments. The PO Clerk assists the PO Specialist and PO Manager when needed in People Operations functions.

Responsibilities

  • Create, organize, and maintain employee files; maintain strict confidentiality of all employee files, records, and information; audit employee files to ensure compliance with agency and licensing standards as it relates to the record keeping of employee personnel files
  • Responsible for vaccine record keeping and auditing
  • Empowered to report any alleged policy, procedure, federal, state, or local law violation to HQ People Operations for assistance and/or investigation
  • Assist with new hire pre-employment process to include offer letter - as per HQ People Operations, background checks, pre-employment verification, pre-employment drug and TB testing, I-9 verification, record keeping and tracking.
  • Assist with the notification to new hires upon hire of onboarding items, benefit enrollment and Upbring policies and information, as well as benefit enrollment reminder prior to deadline
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the People and Culture department and ORR team, internal and external customers, vendors, and auditor Assist with annual MVR checks

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of human resources administrative experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish (written and spoken)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Working knowledge of HR practices and trends
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines

Travel

  • This position may be required to travel up to 10%

  • This position requires sitting and looking and using a computer for long periods of time
  • Position works in a child facility and has constant exposure to children
  • Position requires frequent standing, walking and time in units/cottages which are areas where children reside
  • Lift, push, pull, move up to 50 lbs.
