People Ops Partner - US
Description
About Parloa
Parloa's mission is to make every customer conversation feel effortless for both customers and the companies serving them. As agentic AI accelerates, Parloans are shaping the foundation of a new era in customer experience, one where customer support is no longer transactions, but meaningful exchanges. It is not just a vision; Parloa has powered over ONE BILLION interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and TUI already deploying Parloa at scale.
About the role:
As People Operations Partner, you will own the day-to-day employee experience for our US team. That covers onboarding, contracts, benefits, compliance and employee support. You will build processes that scale, keep us compliant across states, and be the first point of contact for employees in New York and across the US.
This is your opportunity to shape how People Operations runs in the US and to help a fast-growing team feel well supported from day one.
Areas of ownership:
Support the US employee lifecycle from pre-boarding to offboarding, including hosting onboarding sessions and improving the process with each cohort.
Run People administration end to end, including visa processes, offer letters and reference letters, so each is accurate and on time.
Keep our US team compliant with state and federal labor law, including employees who work remotely, and adjust our practices as regulations change.
Own our US benefits administration, including open enrollment in close coordination with our benefits broker and platform provider, Sequoia.
Answer employee requests in our ticketing system quickly and correctly, for the US team and for colleagues around the world.
Work with the global People team in Berlin to align US processes with global standards.
Spot patterns in employee requests and turn them into process fixes, templates or knowledge base updates.
Maintain and build our internal knowledge base, gearing up for the next phase of people operations utilizing automations to enhance our operation model.
Impact in the first 12 months:
After your first year at Parloa, this is what we expect to have changed:
Recurring People processes and the most common employee requests run largely on automation. You built this on the tools we already have, starting with our HRIS, and added AI and other technology where they fill the gaps. The time this frees up goes into People strategy and into connecting with employees.
Employees across the US, local managers and the global People & Culture team see you as a trusted advisor and confidant, on US matters and on People topics in general. You earned that trust through your expertise and through how you communicate, including explaining clearly where the limits are and why.
You are business-forward and solution-focused. When a request touches US regulations, you lead with what we can do and how to do it compliantly.
Who you are:
You have experience designing and running People processes, ideally including global pre-, on- and offboarding.
You have handled employee relations and People administration, including offer letters, contracts and records.
You know US state labor law and compliance, and you have supported a remote team across the US.
You have administered benefits, including open enrollment.
You are proficient in HRIS, preferably HiBob, and other People software.
You manage projects well and stay effective in a fast-paced environment.
You communicate clearly and build trust with employees at every level.
You work from our Manhattan office at least 3 days a week.
You use AI and automation to streamline work that keeps coming back, and you think in systems rather than one-off fixes.
Our recruiting process:
Talent Acquisition → Hiring Manager → Technical Interview(s) → Bar Raiser
Why Parloa?
We're at the beginning of a new era in customer experience, one where AI doesn't just respond, but understands, reasons, and takes action. We're building agentic AI that enterprises trust with their most important customer moments: complex questions, high volumes, real stakes. When millions of people reach out to a brand, those interactions aren't just support tickets; they're defining experiences. We're here to raise the standard: making every conversation seamless, intelligent, and genuinely helpful. If you care about shaping how businesses and customers connect at scale and want your work to matter in real, everyday moments, this is where you do it.
At Parloa, ownership isn't a buzzword; it means being accountable for outcomes, not just tasks. We operate in a category that's evolving fast, where the bar is high, and the problems are complex. We hire people who think in solutions, communicate with clarity, and follow through. People who are comfortable making decisions, taking responsibility, and raising the standard for themselves and those around them.
We've grown beyond the earliest startup phase, but we've kept the intensity: fast execution, direct feedback, and a strong expectation to contribute meaningfully from day one.
Backed by leading global investors like General Catalyst, EQT Ventures, and Altimeter Capital, we're scaling with a clear ambition: to become the global category leader in enterprise-grade conversational AI.
Parloa is committed to upholding the highest data protection standards for our clients' and employees' data. All our employees are instrumental in ensuring the utmost care, GDPR, and ISO compliance, including ISO 27001, in handling sensitive information.
