Per Diem Housekeeper

Job Title: Housekeeping- ICF

Nature of Work: Cleans and cares for all areas of the ICF facility and assists with laundry duties as needed.

Essential Functions:

Individual(s) Served Support

• Responsible for the general and overall cleanliness of common areas to include but not limited to:

• Remove trash from hopper room, nurses station and offices

• Clean staff bathroom, hopper room, and office bathroom

• Vacuum entryway carpets

• Restock supplies in staff bathroom and break room

• Clean break room and conference room

• Responsible for the general and overall cleanliness of residential areas including but not limited to:

• Clean all house bathrooms (tub, sink, faucets, toilets, mirrors, and walls)

• Clean down shower stall and bathtub walls

• Wash mattresses weekly or as needed and wipes down bed frames monthly

• Check house refrigerators and clean as needed

• Restock house bathroom supplies

• Dust all bedrooms and living areas

• Disinfect counter tops, tables, chairs, telephones, and couches

• Wipe down bean bags, and physical therapy equipment

• Clean appliances and empties crumbs from the toasters & micro-wave ovens

• Wash windows and sills

• Wipe spills and marks from the walls

• Completes other miscellaneous housekeeping tasks

• Keeps common work and living area clean and neat in appearance.

• Completes weekend laundry duties as scheduled

• Waxes floors

• Cleans agency vehicles

Safety

• Practices high safety and sanitation standards. Cleans and sanitizes work area according to standards. (aware of hazards, utilizes precautions, fills out staff I & A reports.)

Physical Requirements/ Work Environment:

• Ability to lift 35 lbs. and withstand strenuous physical activity.

• Possess manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment.

Works indoors in well-lit and ventilated rooms. Possibility of cuts or minor burns from equipment and tools. Exposure to common cleaning products on a consistent basis. May be exposed to communicable diseases. Possibility of strain or injury due to job requirements or from interacting with the consumers.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning and laundry procedures and materials.

• Must not be a convicted felon or convicted of a crime involving abuse of a person or animal.

• Experience and/or a genuine interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities

• Possess professional values and ethics; model confidentiality practices as stated in federal, state and agency policies.

• Possess a valid Maine state driver’s license.

• Possess good verbal communication skills.

• Ability to pass required background checks, to include: Adult/Child Protective Services; criminal history; OIG Exclusion list; National Sex Offender Registry; and Bureau of Motor Vehicles record.
