About the Role:
As a per diem product manager within NYSTEC, you will collaborate with team members to provide strategic leadership for technology, digital transformation, and innovation initiatives. This role works closely with business stakeholders, executive leadership, and technical teams to identify opportunities, define product strategies, and deliver solutions that create measurable business value. The product manager is responsible for balancing business objectives, user needs, and technical capabilities while ensuring successful delivery of products and services.
A core expectation of this role is maintaining a comprehensive understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and their practical application within the organization. The Product Manager serves as a trusted advisor on AI-driven opportunities, helping stakeholders identify, evaluate, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, enhance experiences, automate processes, and drive organizational transformation.
As a per diem employee, you will work on an as-needed basis, based on business needs, not to exceed 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities

Lead product discovery, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering activities.

Develop and manage product strategies, roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks aligned with organizational goals.

Define and maintain product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlogs.

Facilitate collaboration among business, technology, operations, and executive stakeholders.

Identify opportunities to leverage AI technologies to improve business processes, service delivery, decision-making, and user experiences.

Advise leadership on AI capabilities, trends, risks, governance considerations, and emerging technologies.

Evaluate, recommend, and oversee the implementation of AI-enabled solutions, including generative AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and conversational AI.

Utilize data, analytics, and performance metrics to inform product decisions and measure outcomes.

Support platform modernization, systems integration, API strategy, and digital transformation efforts.

Drive user adoption, organizational change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Communicate product vision, progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
About You:
Required Qualifications

Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing products through the full product lifecycle.

Stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Determined ability to align technology solutions with business objectives and measurable outcomes.

Experience with Agile, Scrum, Lean, or other modern product delivery methodologies.

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Experience with business process analysis, process improvement, and organizational change management.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and initiatives.

Extensive knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning concepts, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, AI Agents, and Intelligent Automation.

Ability to identify, assess, and implement AI-driven business solutions.

Clear understanding of AI governance, responsible AI principles, security, privacy, compliance, and risk management considerations.

Experience evaluating AI tools, platforms, and emerging technologies for enterprise use cases.

Working knowledge of systems integration, APIs, data management, analytics platforms, and cloud-based technologies.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations for executive stakeholders.

Familiarity with modern productivity and collaboration platforms and their AI capabilities.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, digital transformation, or technology consulting.
