Requirements:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, working with CTOs, enterprise architects, and senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and large-scale distributed platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making capabilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and govern the end-to-end performance strategy for applications, platforms, and enterprise solutions.
  • Partner with enterprise architects, CTOs, and program leadership teams to ensure performance is considered throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Establish and validate non-functional requirements (NFRs) for scalability, availability, reliability, and response times.
  • Develop sizing models, capacity plans, and workload forecasts to support business growth and operational demands.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks across application, database, integration, infrastructure, and cloud layers.
  • Provide architecture recommendations to optimize system throughput, resilience, and resource utilization.
  • Lead performance assessments during solution design, development, testing, and production readiness reviews.
  • Define performance engineering standards, frameworks, tools, and governance processes across delivery teams.
  • Drive performance risk management activities and recommend mitigation strategies for critical business systems.
  • Mentor engineering and architecture teams on performance engineering best practices and emerging industry trends.

We are supporting a client working on behalf of the British postal service and courier company to hire a Performance Architect for a hybrid role with three days onsite in London. This is a 12-month assignment with the likelihood of further extension. The role is focused on embedding performance engineering principles across the full solution lifecycle and influencing enterprise-wide technology decisions to ensure scalable, resilient, and high-performing platforms and applications.
