Performance Marketing Manager
About the Role
Upserve is looking for a data-driven, hands-on Performance Marketing Manager to own our paid acquisition programs, starting with the measurement foundation they run on.
This is a build-then-scale role. Your first priority is establishing a reliable baseline: one clear definition of a qualified lead, tracking that matches Salesforce, and a stable paid search account. Once that foundation is in place, you'll expand across channels and scale what's proven.
This role is ideal for a builder-operator: someone who has built or rebuilt acquisition programs, not just scaled ones that were already running. You're comfortable diagnosing complex data, fixing what's broken, and turning a clean baseline into predictable growth. You judge every change by what it does in Salesforce, not only by what an ad platform reports.
What You'll Do
- Own conversion tracking and the connection between ad platforms and Salesforce, so marketing and sales report the same numbers.
- Own the strategy, execution, and optimization of Upserve's paid acquisition programs, starting with paid search and expanding to paid social, display, retargeting, and emerging channels once efficiency is proven.
- Manage performance against qualified leads, pipeline, customer acquisition cost, and return on marketing investment, all measured in Salesforce.
- Build a disciplined testing program across audiences, messaging, creative, offers, bidding strategies, and landing pages, paced so results can be read clearly.
- Own landing page performance, including building and testing pages in Webflow and working with design partners on larger changes.
- Run competitor and switcher programs, pairing comparison pages with clear reasons to switch.
- Manage agency and vendor partners as needed, holding them to clear, Salesforce-based performance standards, and evaluate platform recommendations (including Google's) against real outcomes before acting on them.
- Track how Upserve shows up beyond paid search: a monthly check of how AI tools and search results describe Upserve, branded search volume, review volume and ratings, and visits referred from AI tools.
- Partner closely with Sales on lead quality, conversion performance, and downstream revenue impact, not just top-of-funnel metrics.
- Work with Content, Brand/Design, and Product Marketing to develop high-performing campaign concepts and creatives.
- Develop forecasts, budgets, performance targets, and channel-level investment recommendations.
- Build clear reporting and dashboards that translate marketing data into actionable business insights.
- Evaluate new acquisition channels, technologies, and tactics that could unlock incremental growth.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in performance, growth, or acquisition marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology.
- Experience in high-ticket, lower-volume B2B lead generation, where deals take time to close and automated bidding has limited data to learn from.
- Hands-on experience setting up conversion tracking and connecting CRM data to ad platforms, such as Salesforce offline conversion imports.
- A track record of building or rebuilding acquisition programs, not only scaling ones that were already working.
- Deep expertise in paid search, including improving Quality Score and landing page experience, with experience across paid social and other digital channels. Familiarity with how search engines and AI tools surface and describe brands is a plus.
- Strong understanding of funnel economics, including CAC, CPL, conversion rates, pipeline, LTV, and marketing ROI.
- Experience building and testing landing pages (Webflow a plus).
- Experience managing agency or vendor partners, including taking over accounts from them.
- Highly analytical and comfortable reconciling data across systems to diagnose performance, with a healthy skepticism of platform automation and vendor recommendations: you judge changes by CRM outcomes, not platform-reported conversions.
- Strong experimentation mindset, with the discipline to change one thing at a time and read results properly.
- Ability to balance strategic ownership with hands-on campaign execution.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex performance data into clear recommendations.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 90 days, Upserve has a trusted baseline: one definition of a qualified lead, tracking that matches Salesforce, and a stable, well-documented paid search program.
Within your first year, you'll have built a repeatable performance marketing engine that delivers cost per customer at or below target, measured in Salesforce. You'll know which channels, audiences, messages, and offers drive Upserve's best customers, and you'll use those insights to decide where to invest next.
Most importantly, you'll help ensure that Upserve's marketing is measured not by clicks or leads, but by its impact on pipeline, customers, and revenue.
Salary Range - $130,000 - $160,000 based on experience.
