Discussion

Summary

Plus Forty, a growing consumer (DTC) brand, is hiring a full-time remote Performance Video Editor to turn briefs and raw assets (UGC, product footage, testimonials) into conversion-focused direct-response video ads for Meta. Pay is 8-10 USD/hour on CET hours, using Premiere Pro, After Effects, and CapCut.

About the Role

We are a growing consumer brand looking for a high-calibre Performance Video Editor to support the creation of direct-response video ads, primarily for Meta.

You'll work closely with our internal marketing and creative team, receiving clear briefs and raw assets, then turning them into polished, conversion-focused ads built to perform.

This is not simply a production role. We're looking for an editor who understands performance creative, can identify what makes an ad work, and can eventually operate with a high degree of independence: taking a brief, interpreting the objective, and producing strong creative without needing constant direction.

Work Structure & Requirements

  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Location: Remote
  • Timezone: Central European Time (CET)
  • Compensation: 8–10 USD per hour

Key Responsibilities

  1. Direct Response Video Editing
    • Edit high-performing video ads primarily for Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
    • Turn raw footage, UGC, product content, testimonials, and existing creative into polished direct-response ads
    • Build strong hooks, pacing, storytelling, text overlays, captions, CTAs, and transitions
    • Create multiple variations of winning concepts for ongoing testing
    • Adapt videos into different lengths, formats, and aspect ratios
    • Repurpose existing footage efficiently to maximise creative output
    • Edit with conversion and performance in mind, rather than purely aesthetics
  2. Creative Iteration & Testing
    • Work from briefs provided by the internal team and translate them into high-quality finished ads
    • Produce creative variations around hooks, angles, opening frames, messaging, pacing, and CTAs
    • Review existing winning ads and use learnings to inform future edits
    • Understand the difference between creative designed for attention, consideration, and conversion
    • Help increase the speed and volume of creative testing without sacrificing quality
  3. Creative Ownership
    • Develop a strong understanding of the brand, customers, products, and creative standards
    • Progress toward independently interpreting briefs and making strong creative decisions
    • Proactively suggest improvements to edits, structures, and creative concepts where relevant
    • Maintain organised project files and reusable creative assets
    • Work efficiently across multiple briefs and deadlines

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 3+ years editing direct-response or performance marketing video
  • Portfolio: Strong portfolio of Meta ads or other paid social creative
  • Performance Creative: Deep understanding of hooks, pacing, retention, storytelling, and conversion-focused editing, plus Meta ad formats and social-first creative
  • Editing Tools: Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar editing software
  • Content Types: Comfortable working with UGC, testimonials, product footage, creator content, and static assets
  • Working Style: Takes direction well while exercising independent creative judgment; fast, organised, and comfortable producing a high volume of creative
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail
  • Communication: Strong written English
  • Industry Background: Experience with DTC, e-commerce, or consumer brands strongly preferred

The strongest candidates will combine high-end editing ability with a genuine understanding of direct response: someone who can be briefed on the objective and trusted to figure out the best way to bring the ad to life.
