Personal Care Worker
Summary
Provides in-home personal care to elderly clients in Toowoomba & Darling Downs QLD, assisting with daily activities, companionship, and following care plans under supervision.

The Personal Care Worker is responsible for following personalised care plans to meet customers' individual needs and supporting senior staff as needed. The role reports changes in customers’ conditions to senior staff and supports with activities of daily living such as assisting with dressing, making beds, and tidying rooms. They help customers by accompanying them on outings, assisting with shopping, and coordinating appointments.
Responsibilities:
- Follows personal care plans for customers to ensure their individual needs are met effectively. Works under the supervision of more senior personal care service employees.
- Performs domestic duties such as laying out clothes and assisting customers in dressing, making beds and tidying rooms etc. to maintain a clean and organised environment.
- Focuses on customers and residents using person centered approach, demonstrates values of patience, empathy and listening and respects the customer’s diverse and unique needs.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of customer’s care, including daily logs, incident reports, and care plans.
- Identifies and reports changes in customers’ circumstances and capacity to more senior staff members, monitors and record customers’ vital signs and assists with medication management, including reminders and administration as prescribed.
- Provides emotional support and companionship to customer’s, engaging in conversations and activities to promote mental well-being and encourages them to participate in recreational and social activities.
- Assists customers with their day-to-day tasks, accompanies them on outings to provide support and companionship, helps them with shopping to meet their personal needs etc.
- Manages the safety and well-being of customer’s by following protocols and emergency procedures and adheres to confidentiality and privacy regulations regarding personal information.
