Personal Support Worker

This Opportunity
We are currently looking to fill a part-time, permanent Support Services Attendant role in our North East region – Wawa, ON

Flexible schedule: Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Starting wage: $23.11 per hour. This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week.
Duties include the following:
Duties

Assists clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

Personal care
Lifts and Transfers
Rising/retiring
Bowel and bladder procedures
Meal preparation and feeding
Range of motion exercises
Other light housekeeping duties

Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety.

Background / Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

PSW Certificate or equivalent
Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client based care
Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties
