Step into Training

Bring energy and heart to our Wellness Center as a part-time Personal Trainer at the Bob Hoffman Dover YMCA (Dover, PA). This entry-level role exists to help members move safely, build confidence, and stay motivated through smart, individualized coaching.

Key responsibilities include:
- Design and lead personalized cardio, strength, flexibility, and balance programs aligned to client goals
- Coach proper form, progressions, and safe technique using science-based exercise trends
- Build strong member relationships, communicate clearly, and support a welcoming training experience
- Work with diverse populations (athletes, older adults, cardiac rehab, teens)
- Follow emergency and safety procedures; complete incident/accident documentation as needed
- Promote YMCA programs and services

Required qualifications/skills:
- National Personal Training certification (ACSM, ACE, etc.)
- CPR PRO/AED/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and safety-first mindset

On the Floor, In the Zone

You’ll roll in for a flexible 5–15 hour week—often afternoons or evenings—greeting familiar faces as the Wellness Center comes alive. Between sessions, you’ll connect with members who are new to the gym and those getting back into routines, keeping the vibe upbeat and encouraging. You’ll coordinate quick check-ins, stay in sync with the Wellness leadership team, and pivot smoothly as the schedule shifts. Every shift ends with that “we did it” feeling—because someone left stronger, safer, and more confident than when they arrived.

Obtain Criminal background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
