Personnel Security Assistant
Summary
A Personnel Security Assistant at the US Marshals Service supports federal background investigations by conducting record checks, assisting with NBIS eAPP, fingerprinting, and NCIC inquiries.
Mayvin is seeking a Personnel Security Assistant to support the Office of Court Security, Judicial Security Division within the United States Marshals Service. The Assistant will work with other Government Agencies, Contractors, and Federal Employees to support initial investigations and reinvestigations for the federal background investigation process.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to undergo and pass a background investigation.
Responsibilities:
- Determine the appropriate level of initial investigation and reinvestigation depending on the position's designation level
- Conduct preliminary record checks of the Office of Personnel Management's Central Verification System (CVS) to determine if a current reciprocal investigation meets position designation requirements.
- Invite the individual into NBIS eAPP (electronic application) and assist with access issues
- Determine if additional inquiries are necessary to resolve discrepant, negative, or contradictory information
- Fingerprint applicants and employees, conduct National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/National Law Enforcement. Telecommunications System (NLETS) inquiries; conduct credit checks
