Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Personnel Security Division located in Washington D.C. The incumbent serves as an advanced trainee. Work assignments are selected to provide training in the analytic and judgmental aspects of the work and in the appropriate use of proper methods and techniques. This position starts at a salary of $57,736.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $91,815.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $133,142 (GS-12 Step 10). The Major Duties for this position are listed below but not limited to: Reviewing, evaluating, and adjudicating submitted investigation packages to ensure compliance and adequacy of the package. Reviewing completed investigations for compliance and adequacy, requesting investigations from other federal entities, and creating and/or documenting all actions within designated systems of records. Reviewing submitted documentation, reports of investigation, investigative materials and database checks. Utilizing a variety of personnel security related information technology systems.
