Personnel Security Specialist

About the Position: This is a developmental Personnel Security Specialist position with the USACE Portland District Security Office. The Security Office mission is to provide quality and responsive protection support to all personnel, information, and facilities throughout the District to maintain an overall security posture for operational success.

Manage the personnel security program, developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and mission readiness.

Evaluate security clearances, initiate background investigations, and adjudicate derogatory information to determine clearance eligibility for all personnel.

Direct security education and awareness training, oversee the foreign travel program, and support insider threat and information assurance initiatives.

Serve as the Site Security Manager for DEERS/RAPIDS, overseeing system security, user access, and hardware maintenance for the district.

Administer the Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) system, managing accounts and hardware to support personnel security and hiring actions.
