PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST
Summary
Oversee personnel and information security programs, manage clearances, and ensure compliance with classified information handling at a U.S. Navy command.
You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the INFORMATION, PERSONNEL AND INDUSTRIAL SECURITY OFFICE (N00SM2), SECURITY MANAGEMENT OFFICE (N00SM), at NAVAL COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS AREA MASTER STATION (NCTAMS). This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.
You will plan and direct the daily work and schedule of the division, establish priorities, ensure quality standards, methods and procedures.
You will recommend input that is included in the members’ evaluations and fitness reports.
You will advise, counsel and instruct members on both professional and administrative matters.
You will manage all aspects of the Personnel Security program including granting, denying, revoking suspending or restricting security clearances.
You will determine clearance eligibility requirements for special access programs, performance of nomination interviews, processing of foreign exception and investigative requests.
You will manage all aspects of the Information Security Program to include defining and implementing security measures to properly account for control, transmit, transport, package, and safeguard controlled unclassified/classified information.
You will report and investigate all unauthorized disclosures of classified information in accordance with security directives.
You will develop, formulate and administer a continuing security education training and awareness program.
