This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Pessoa Desenvolvedora Backend Python Especialista I (Plataforma e Serviços) based in Brazil.
This is a senior backend engineering opportunity focused on modernizing critical platforms and building scalable, resilient services.
You will help transform a legacy monolithic architecture into a modern ecosystem of Python-based microservices.
The role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud architecture, event-driven systems, and technical governance.
You will work on high-impact initiatives involving AWS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, REST APIs, observability, and asynchronous integrations.
AI-powered development tools are an integral part of the engineering workflow, enabling faster delivery and continuous improvement.
You will also act as a technical reference, influencing architectural decisions and collaborating independently across teams and squads.

Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and evolve resilient, high-performance microservices using Python, following scalable and maintainable engineering practices.
- Lead and execute the migration and decoupling of critical business domains from a legacy .NET monolith into a modern Python-based platform.
- Design and maintain asynchronous integrations using Kafka and/or RabbitMQ, as well as robust RESTful APIs.
- Promote high standards of software quality through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, as well as thorough code reviews.
- Architect and maintain cloud solutions in AWS, prioritizing resilience, high availability, scalability, and efficient infrastructure costs.
- Implement and evolve application observability using APM and monitoring technologies such as New Relic and OpenTelemetry.
- Produce and maintain structured technical documentation, including RFCs, ADRs, System Design diagrams, and BPMN workflows.
- Lead root-cause analyses and troubleshooting activities and facilitate post-mortems following relevant production incidents.
- Use AI development tools such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot as part of the engineering workflow, sharing effective prompts, agents, and practices with the broader team.
- Act as a technical reference across different teams and squads, helping define integration contracts and driving architectural decisions with a high degree of autonomy.
- Contribute to security, privacy, and data-governance initiatives, including practices related to LGPD and data anonymization.
- Solid professional experience in Backend development with Python.
- Strong experience designing and building microservices architectures and decoupling monolithic systems.
- Practical experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms, ideally in large-scale or production environments.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging, particularly Kafka and/or RabbitMQ, combined with RESTful API development.
- Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools, such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot, to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
- Strong software quality mindset, including unit and integration testing, code reviews, and automated quality practices.
- Experience with technical documentation and architectural practices such as RFCs, ADRs, and System Design.
- Experience with observability and APM solutions, such as New Relic, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or similar technologies.
- High degree of autonomy, ownership, self-management, and proactivity when working across multiple teams and technical domains.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the communication skills needed to align technical decisions and integration contracts.
- Knowledge or previous experience with .NET/C# is a plus, particularly for understanding and modernizing legacy environments.
- Familiarity with security practices, LGPD, and anonymization of personal data is desirable.
- Experience working on large-scale initiatives with a focus on cloud cost efficiency is an additional advantage.
