Pest Control Technician
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out pest control services at clients' premises in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site inspections to identify pest infestations, assess the severity of the issue, and recommend appropriate treatment solutions.
- Apply pesticides, insecticides, rodenticides, and other approved chemicals safely and effectively, ensuring the correct type and dosage are used for different pest infestations.
- Handle, store, transport, and dispose of pest control chemicals in compliance with workplace safety regulations and environmental requirements.
- Operate and maintain pest control equipment, including fogging machines, misting machines, ULV sprayers, oiling machines, baiting equipment, and other treatment tools.
- Install, inspect, replenish, and monitor pest control devices such as bait stations, insect light traps, glue boards, and rodent traps.
- Prepare service reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments performed, chemicals used, and recommendations provided to clients.
- Educate clients on preventive pest management practices and provide recommendations to minimise future infestations.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements, company SOPs, and relevant NEA regulations.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, PPE, and service vehicles in good working condition.
- Attend scheduled training sessions to keep updated on pest control techniques, chemical handling, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to emergency pest control service requests when required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum "N level" passed in English
- Ability to handle and apply pest control chemicals safely and responsibly
- Physically fit to work indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, public holidays or after office hours when operationally required
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant experience in pest control services
- Possession of NEA Vector Control Technician License
- Experience operating pest control equipment such as fogging machines, misting machines, sprayers, and oiling machines
- Possession of relevant pest control certifications or licenses
- Valid Class 3 driving license (if required for operational duties)
