Petroleum Engineer
You will serve as a Petroleum Engineer with Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. In this position, you will perform the full range of complex analyses and evaluations on production commingling, measurement, allocation, and transportation operations and contributes to the development of regional surface commingling, measurement, and allocation policies.

Some of the major duties you will perform include, but are not limited to the following: - Serves as an SME on surface commingling, measurement, and allocation of oil and gas production on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). Represents the Gulf of America Region and agency in meetings with industry and other federal agencies. - Completes thorough reviews of surface commingling and measurement applications involving complex production facilities, pipeline systems, and measurement technologies. - Drafts novel royalty determination and allocation procedures for unprecedented surface commingling and measurement applications. Develops methods to systematize and streamline the permit review process. - Finds oil and gas production reporting errors on OGORs, run tickets, and gas volume statements to ensure the proper payment of royalties. - Trains less experienced engineers in the use of the Technical Data Management System (TIMS) and other database and mapping tools, drafting simplified process flow schematics in CAD, and in the theory and application of surface commingling principles. - Contributes to the development of regional and agency-wide surface commingling and measurement policy. Participates in work groups for the development of industry standards. - Informs and directly responds to requests for information from operators, inspectors, and the Office of Natural Resource Revenue (ONRR) to ensure compliance with approved measurement and allocation procedures and all necessary regulations, internal policies, and industry standards.
