Process Engineer | Lead Technology Transfer, Scale-Up & Manufacturing Excellence #HDC1

Drive Process Engineering, Technology Transfer & Manufacturing Optimisation

Are you a Process Engineer with experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments and looking to expand your exposure across complex technical projects?

We are seeking a Process Engineer to support and lead activities spanning process development, technology transfer, scale-up, process optimisation, equipment qualification, and capital projects. You will work closely with Technical Services, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Automation, and Project teams to develop and implement robust, efficient, and compliant manufacturing processes.

This role provides broad technical exposure and the opportunity to contribute to new product introductions, process improvements, technology implementation, and manufacturing excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Engineering activities and technical deliverables for capital projects, new product introductions, technology development, and process improvement programmes.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support throughout process development, technology transfer, scale-up, implementation, and commercialisation of new technologies.
  • Plan and conduct process testing, engineering studies, experiments, and technical evaluations for new processes, products, and technology transfers.
  • Partner with Technical Services and project teams to establish Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) and Key Process Parameters supporting equipment and process validation.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned manufacturing processes and equipment, providing support for troubleshooting, investigations, design reviews, change controls, and capital planning.
  • Develop process concepts, processing schemes, feasibility studies, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and detailed project scopes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve process safety, product quality, yield, productivity, cost efficiency, and material utilisation.
  • Support process and automation engineering activities, including control philosophies, instrumentation requirements, alarm strategies, and emergency/shutdown approaches.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical procedures, master batch records, and manufacturing documentation in accordance with GMP requirements.
  • Design and execute process studies, analyse technical data, and prepare study proposals, progress reports, development reports, and technical memoranda.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and support their introduction to enhance existing commercial manufacturing processes.
  • Lead scale-up activities from R&D into manufacturing, ensuring effective technology transfer and maintaining process robustness following product launch.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing or process-related issues, applying appropriate root-cause analysis methodologies to identify underlying causes.
  • Recommend, implement, and monitor effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Participate in User Requirements Specification (URS) development, equipment retrofit projects, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and equipment qualification activities.
  • Support Quality Risk Assessments (QRA) and process hazard analyses to identify, assess, and mitigate process-related risks.
  • Develop project scopes, preliminary cost estimates, and cost plans to support CAPEX proposals and investment decisions.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects concurrently, balancing technical requirements, timelines, priorities, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders and respond proactively to changing project and operational requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline, or higher.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Development, or a related function.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments will be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, investigation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise competing requirements, and deliver work within established timelines.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, process development, technology transfer, scale-up, and technical operations.
  • Proactive and professional approach with strong ownership, attention to detail, work ethic, and commitment to quality and compliance.

Build Your Expertise in Process Engineering

This is an excellent opportunity for a Process Engineer to broaden their technical exposure across technology transfer, process development, scale-up, validation, process optimisation, and manufacturing engineering projects.

You will have the opportunity to work on technically diverse initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the successful implementation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

If you are ready to take the next step in your process engineering career and contribute to manufacturing excellence, technology implementation, and process robustness, we welcome your application.
