Pharmacist- PD

PAY: $73.05 - $77.24 /hr BOE, EOE

The Pharmacist will be reporting to the Pharmacy Director and will be working closely with a team of tenured pharmacy technologists.

Independently reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems. Contacts physicians, nurses and other professionals as necessary to facilitate care. Manages drug therapy protocols as part of physician-pharmacist-nurse team.

• Performs specialized order entry functions and maintains patient pharmaceutical care documentation within the clinical information system.
• Oversees daily drug distribution service activities.
• Responds to questions from physicians and nursing staff and patients regarding medicines and pharmaceuticals.
• Monitors individual patient drug therapy for medication safety and appropriateness.
• Monitors and updates charge system for drugs and pharmaceutical services
• Acts as a resource person for Medical Practitioners and hospital staff concerning information on medications.
• Documents drug therapy clinical interventions, medication errors, and adverse drug reaction events per pharmacy operational protocol.
• Supervises daily operation of Automated Drug Dispensing Devices.
• Promptly checks the verification order que.
• Orders medications for providers as needed
