Pharmacy Director (Regional Support)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Director ensures the safe and effective use and administration of medications through proper storage, handling, evaluation, preparation, compounding, labeling, and dispensing. In addition, The Pharmacy Director will provide oversight of the hospital pharmacy's clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management. Pharmacy Director educates patients and caregivers about drugs and their use. They also provide patient counseling and customer service. While advising physicians and other healthcare team members on medication selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects. The Pharmacy Director will assign tasks, supervise and coach Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, and support the Corporate Director of Pharmacy’s strategy. The Pharmacy Director will also serve as a member of the hospital Leadership Team.

Regional Support Responsibilities

• Onboarding of new pharmacist providing training, education and support on systems and processes
• Support implementation, system setup and opening of new locations
• Oversight of BD implementation
• Oversight/onboarding of ABC accounts for new locations
