POSITION SUMMARY Interprets physician’s prescriptions and medication orders. Assures accuracy in completing requests for medication Assists with compounding and dispensing prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals Assists Pharmacists as a drug information resource to patients, medical, and nursing staff Monitors all posting onto the patient profiles to assure accuracy, determine drug allergies, interactions, and incompatibilities Checks patient medication file prior to delivery to patient care areas to ascertain that the correct drug, dosage form, schedule, and strength is being dispensed Prepares IV admixtures and extemporaneous parenteral products under aseptic conditions Enters accurate data into the Pharmacy software program
