Pharmacy Technician

Schedule: 7On/7Off | Nights

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the Pharmacy department.
• Prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Triages incoming calls and serves as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing information.

• Required Credential(s):
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Pharmacy students actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy are not required to have certification/registration.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Pharmacy students actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy are not required to have certification/registration. Non-certified incumbents hired prior to 4/30/18 are grandfathered and not required to hold certification.
    • Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Pharmacy students actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy are not required to have certification/registration. Non-certified incumbents hired prior to 4/30/18 are grandfathered and not required to hold certification.

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
