Pharmacy Technician

About the Position: This position is located at McDonald Army Health Clinic Fort Eustis, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Perform pharmacy dispensing services.

Receive and review individual prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals, to include controlled drugs, to determine kind, strength, and dosage of drugs to be dispensed. Interprets prescription orders for appropriateness.

Consider pharmacy policy limitations and instructions on the order.

Provide information and consultant advice to the prescriber on contraindications, interactions, and side effects.

Answer routine inquiries from doctors, nurses, and other medical staff on the availability of specific items, e.g., drugs in stock, new drugs on order, and dosage forms available in the pharmacy.

Process prescriptions by data entry and verifies prescription orders.

Perform pharmacy check for "setting up" new and refilling prescriptions for a final check by the pharmacist.
