The Pharmacy Technician Patient Advocate Specialist II assists patients and providers in completing benefits investigations, enrolling patients in manufacturer assistance programs. Working under moderate supervision, this role works to ensure patient medication access.
Essential Job Function:
- Performs benefits investigations for specified clinic or medications.
- Obtains insurance prior authorizations and pre-certifications.
- Coordinates with manufacturer assistance programs for under/uninsured patients.
- Acts as a liaison between the patient, clinic and/or infusion center, pharmacy, third party payor, and/or drug manufacturer.
- Works collaboratively with clinical pharmacists and care team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Work Shift :
Days/No Weekends (United States of America)On Call Required
