Job Summary:
The Philanthropic Officer, Community Engagement, is responsible for managing the involvement, volunteerism and financial support of a number of community organizations, companies, groups and individual supporters across organizational locations and service areas. This position has an emphasis on developing relationships as part of an overall strategic plan, and on gift solicitation and stewardship. Additionally, the PO, CE is responsible for leading volunteer coordination, donor engagement, community outreach, and regional communications in assigned service areas, with a focus on building local partnerships, growing volunteer participation, increasing visibility, and enhancing philanthropic support across facilities.
Working collaboratively with all aspects within the Advancement team, NECHV leadership and employees, the PO, CE will organize, place, evaluate, implement and record volunteer services, including Gift a Vet holiday gift-giving program. This position coordinates and implements cross-facility engagement initiatives and regional operations while operating within approved revenue and expense budget for each event and assigned program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates 400+ volunteers and 100+ groups for the Center annually, scheduling group visits and managing volunteer assignments though Bloomerang Volunteer software.
• Works closely with Center staff to fulfill needs of departments requiring volunteer assistance.
• Supports major gift program by providing prospect research, solicitation, and stewardship as guided by senior fundraising staff.
• Stewards new donors as indicated in advancement annual plan.
• Oversees, solicits and coordinates implementation of the Sponsored Meal Program.
• Manages the annual Gift-a-Vet Holiday gift-giving program.
• Assists with coordination of the Merrimack Valley Food Pantry.
• Schedules related internal and external events throughout the year.
• Works closely with Advancement team in the coordination and implementation of annual fundraising events, solicits financial and in-kind support for the Center for programs including Sponsored Meal Program, Annual Fund, Gift a Vet program and events throughout the year.
• Lead volunteer coordination, donor relations, community engagement, and regional social media management efforts across multiple organizational facilities and assigned service areas, including Boston and Merrimack Valley operations; develop and maintain local partnerships; create and execute region-specific social media content and engagement strategies; coordinate day-to-day volunteer engagement and community operations; expand volunteer opportunities; increase regional philanthropic support; and strengthen community awareness, visibility, and participation through digital and in-person outreach.
• Maintains ongoing communications with the public, fielding telephone, email and website inquiries and recording those communications.
