ABOUT THE ROLE:

Join a team of dedicated professionals in the insurance and technology sector, working on projects focused on maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing business-critical insurance applications. You will work with both established and modern PHP technologies, contributing to ongoing system improvements, new functionality, and technology modernization initiatives.
This is a hybrid role based in Vilnius, Lithuania, offered on a fixed-term contract for several months.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance PHP-based insurance applications and business-critical systems.
  • Work with modern PHP applications and contribute to ongoing system improvements and modernization.
  • Develop and maintain backend functionality, APIs, integrations, and database-related components.
  • Analyze existing solutions and implement new functionality, enhancements, fixes, and technical improvements.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and production support activities.
  • Contribute to system modernization and technology uplift initiatives.
  • Ensure code quality, maintainability, performance, and adherence to development standards.
  • Document technical solutions and support knowledge sharing within the development team.

WHAT WE EXPECT:

  • Strong commercial experience with PHP 8.x.
  • Experience with MySQL, CakePHP, Symfony (preferably the latest versions).
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, integrations, and web application architecture.
  • Experience working with and maintaining business-critical applications.
  • Ability to analyze existing code and implement enhancements, fixes, and technical improvements.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, debugging, and version control.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing technical requirements.
  • Experience with system modernization, technology upgrades, or application uplift is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in the insurance sector is an advantage.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Hourly rate: 28–38 EUR/hour, depending on experience and technical expertise.

Fixed-term contract for several months, with the exact duration discussed during the recruitment process.

Hybrid working model in Vilnius, Lithuania.
