Core stack: PHP, Laravel, MySQL/MariaDB, Linux, and Git, with exposure to AI-assisted coding.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a PHP Software Engineer, your focus will be on developing server-side logic, defining and maintaining the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the application's front end. You will integrate front-end web elements built by the Front-End team and be part of a full-stack, creative team responsible for all aspects of software development, from specification review and assessment through developing, code review, launching, and maintaining internal and external products.
COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
As a PHP Software Engineer you would:
- Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
- Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
- Work closely with your team in completing projects
- Troubleshoot and fix any issues relating to our PHP applications
- Develop and test software for enterprise and/or client applications
- Refactor, optimize, and improve existing codebases for maintenance and scale
- Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers
- Convey effectively the status of task progress, evaluations, suggestions, and schedules
- Provide insights and improvements related to technical and process issues
- Document developed features and architecture
You have:
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- High proficiency working in PHP
- At least one year of experience with Laravel
- Proficiency working with MySQL or MariaDB
- Proficiency working within a Linux environment
- Familiarity with version control software, such as Git
- Familiarity with agentic code generation using frontier AI models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to explain complex technical problems to both technical and non-technical people

- Experience with Agile software principles
- Experience using project management software, such as Jira Software
- Experience with all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with automated testing, including unit testing and CI/CD pipelines
