Position Overview
The Physical Security Specialist will provide on-site physical security support to the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) mission at Eglin Air Force Base in support of our international partners.
This position provides continuous after-hours physical security coverage to protect personnel, facilities, equipment, materials, and information. The Physical Security Specialist will monitor facility activity, verify authorized access, conduct required security checks, provide escorts, respond to alarm notifications, document security activities, and immediately report security anomalies to the appropriate Government authorities.
The position is 100% on-site and requires availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and other periods when normal Government personnel may not be present. The contract effort has a 12-month period of performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a continuous physical security presence within assigned ACURL and/or XRL facilities.
- Monitor facilities and surrounding areas for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, security concerns, or other anomalies.
- Verify personnel access authorization and ensure only authorized individuals are permitted access to controlled areas.
- Immediately notify the Eglin AFB Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) when security anomalies, suspected intrusions, or other security incidents are identified.
- Escort Security Forces personnel responding to suspected intrusion events.
- Escort and monitor Government-approved after-hours access by emergency personnel, facility engineering personnel, vendors, maintenance personnel, and other authorized individuals.
- Respond to notifications from applicable alarm-monitoring organizations, including the Eglin AFB BDOC.
- Answer alarm-monitoring calls and physically respond to security events at ACURL or XRL when required.
- Conduct exterior perimeter security inspections of assigned facilities at intervals not to exceed four (4) hours during assigned periods of responsibility.
- Inspect facilities for indications of unauthorized entry, door or window tampering, suspicious vehicles or individuals, perimeter damage, or other unusual conditions.
- Immediately report identified anomalies to BDOC and document incidents in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain detailed security checks and anomaly logs documenting the date and time of inspections, employee conducting the inspection, security status, and any observed anomalies.
- Maintain communication with applicable F-35 JPO security offices and support appropriate Special Access Program (SAP) security posture requirements.
- Protect classified information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and comply with applicable DoD, Air Force, F-35 JPO, OPSEC, and facility security requirements.
- Complete required Government security, antiterrorism, active-shooter, information assurance, and other required training.
- Maintain reliable attendance and shift coverage due to the mission-essential nature of the position.
