Physical Therapist Assistant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer physical therapy treatments and interventions as outlined in the established plan of care.

• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, balance training, gait training, and functional mobility activities.

• Provide manual therapy techniques and apply therapeutic modalities as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Monitor patient response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and proper body mechanics.

• Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the EMR system.

• Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a clean and safe condition.

• Ensure compliance with state practice acts, facility policies, and professional standards.

• Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and staff.
