Physician (Anesthesiologist-Pain Management)
The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) is looking for an Anesthesiologist or a Preventive Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician specializing in pain management who will function as a consultant in evaluating, diagnosing, initiating and implementing comprehensive pain management modalities including basic and advanced interventional techniques.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Duties include but are not limited to: Knowledge of the pathophysiology, neurochemical, and psychological aspects of pain management Ability to evaluate the patients presenting with chronic pain by completing a targeted history and physical examination and interpretation of radiological studies Ability to proficiently perform diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures including but not limited to radiofrequency techniques, spinal cord stimulator implantation, caudal and epidural blocks. lumbar sympathetic blocks, other upper and lower plexus blocks Knowledge of spinal opioids and implantation of intrathecal pumps for pain control in chronic pain patients Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a diverse group of professional staff and management officials Provide educational information to Pain Clinic staff and Primary Care Providers and other Physicians regarding pain management Assisting with Pain Clinic schedules Assisting with creation of policies and standard operation procedures for safe operations of the Pain Clinic Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours are based on needs of the service
