The Orlando VA Healthcare System seeks a full time board certified Cardiologist to serve as the Chief of Cardiology. They will be expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of consultative inpatient and outpatient Cardiology patient care. They will manage patients with ongoing Cardiology conditions, inpatient and outpatient, in collaboration with other services. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assigned administrative and clinical supervision of all Physicians and APP's within Cardiology Service. Complete performance reviews for all providers within the service. Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care. Communicates and documents with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care. Procedural skills may include (dependent upon training) arterial puncture, EKG interpretation, Transthoracic and Transesophageal echocardiography performance and interpretation, other cardiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization (right and left heart), cardiac biopsy, balloon angioplasty, coronary artery stenting, pacemaker placement, pericardiocentesis, venipuncture, cardiac dysrhythmia diagnosis, mapping and ablation, or other cardiology techniques, diagnostics, or procedures. Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation. Consultative input to outpatient and inpatient care. Collaborate with APP's and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation.
