We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician to work on a contract or locum (36 hours a week) basis at our Roosevelt Wellness Center located in South San Antonio, where you'll care for a unique all-adult patient population of retired San Antonio Firefighters, Police Officers and their dependents.

This is an out-patient clinic setting with 30 minute and 1 hour appointment times. 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. No late hours, no weekends and no call.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients in order to meet their needs
  • Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients
  • Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs
  • Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
  • Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of health care
  • Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
  • Orders studies, test, and ancillary services
  • Documents all services in patient medical record in Elation
  • Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention
  • Consults with Physician Lead, Director of Medicine, and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and educational issues
  • Assists as needed in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations

  • Graduate of accredited US School of Medicine; MD or DO
  • BC / BE (Family or Internal Medicine)
  • Current unrestricted Texas license
  • Current DEA Certificate
  • BLS
