Physician - Emergency Medicine

The VA Puget Sound Healthcare System is recruiting for one Emergency Medicine Physician to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients at the VA hospital in Seattle, WA. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Please see "Duties" below for more details.

Duties will include but are not limited to: Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Performs endotracheal intubation when clinically indicated. Manages ventilatory support for critically ill patients. Places and manages central venous catheters. Conducts Emergency Medicine telemedicine visits with Veterans as needed. Provides clinical education and supervision for Health Profession Trainees in the Emergency Department. Maintains capability for possible faculty appointment with the University of Washington. Delivers high-quality, patient-centered acute care across variable tours (days, weekends, nights). Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe evaluation, stabilization, and disposition. Applies evidence-based practices and remain current with Emergency Medicine standards. Documents all clinical encounters accurately in the medical record. Participates in department process-improvement and patient-safety initiatives. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and team members during high-acuity situations. Provides rapid stabilization for trauma, cardiac, neurologic, and other life-threatening emergencies.
