Physician (Gynecology)
The Gynecologist is responsible for providing comprehensive gynecologic care to Veterans at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. The Gynecologist will function within an approved scope of practice according to VA policy, state licensure, and relevant professional standards.

Diagnose and treat acute and chronic gynecologic conditions. Develop and implement treatment plans. Provide preventive gynecologic services, including cancer screenings (breast, cervical, ovarian, uterine). Provide contraceptive counseling and devices. Perform office-based gynecologic procedures (Pap smears, biopsies, colposcopy, cryotherapy, endometrial sampling, IUD insertion/removal, etc.) Perform minor surgical procedures (vulvar/vaginal lesion excision, cyst removal, etc.) Provide perioperative care and perform inpatient/outpatient gynecologic surgery as credentialed (hysterectomy, laparoscopy, D&C, etc.). Manage gynecologic emergencies. Provide consultative services to other clinical services within the facility regarding gynecologic matters. Prescribe medications, order laboratory and radiology studies, interpret results, and initiate referrals to other specialties as clinically indicated. Educate patients regarding diagnosis, risk factors, treatment options, and preventive health measures related to women's health. Complete documentation in electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with VA policy. Participate in peer reviews, quality assurance, performance improvement, and educational activities. Practices autonomously within their scope, seeking consultation as clinically indicated. May provide supervision and teaching to medical students, residents, and other health staff. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams as required. Completion of accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. State medical license. Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Current/Active privileges at Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. Scope of practice may be modified as deemed necessary by the Medical Executive Committee or Chief of Staff to ensure patient safety or respond to organizational needs. Work Schedule: Permanent; Full-Time; Mon-Fri 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
