Summary
Provide comprehensive internal medicine care to adult patients with acute and chronic illnesses at a military medical facility, documenting care in electronic records and participating in CME.
About the Position: This position is located at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center, Director for DMS, Department of Internal Medicine at Fort Belvoir, VA. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Serve as a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician providing care to adult patients who have both acute and chronic illnesses of all complexities.
Promotes preventive measures
Manages the acute and chronic conditions of his/her assigned panel of patients and patients assigned to other team members when circumstances require.
Responsible for the continuous and comprehensive healthcare management of a broad range of health services.
Documents all examinations/procedures performed in the patient's electronic medical record.
Participates in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and quality assurance activities as assigned.
Provides consultation to other health care providers as assigned
