Physician (Nuclear Medicine)

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team at the Kent Imaging and Infusion Center, which is part of the larger VANEOHS Imaging Service. This position offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic healthcare team and support our mission to deliver top-notch imaging services. Imaging services at the Kent Facility are expected to be offered between 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM (M-F) and 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM (Sat), with hours subject to change. The successful applicant will be expected to travel up to 50% of the time to support the needs of various VANEOHS Imaging locations beyond Kent, including fulfilling on- call responsibilities and providing weekend coverage as needed. Additional Duty Location includes the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center. Specific tours of duty, weekend responsibilities, and call responsibilities will be discussed during the interview process. Our department engages in advanced academic research in molecular imaging, theragnostic, and imaging outcomes. We operate a comprehensive imaging suite, including three cutting-edge PET/CT scanners, gamma cameras, and SPECT/CT systems. Our PET program utilizes various radiotracers such as FDG, amyloid tracers, and PSMA, with plans to incorporate cardiac perfusion PET modalities in the future. We also maintain a robust theranostics program, offering targeted radiopharmaceutical therapies for conditions including prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, and bone metastases (e.g., Pluvicto, Lutathera, and Xofigo), in collaboration with Oncology and Radiation Oncology services. Nuclear Medicine professionals collaborate extensively across disciplines-including Cardiology, Oncology, Endocrinology, Neurology, and Surgery-to provide integrated, patient-centered care. There are numerous opportunities for academic engagement within the Cleveland medical community. There will be expectations related to the teaching of residents once such a training program is established. Oversight of quality and safety: Interpreting and reporting Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and Nuclear Cardiology stress testing scans in a timely fashion. Providing nuclear medicine therapies as needed. Interacting with Technologist staff to answer questions and to obtain optimal imaging. Reviewing and protocoling new routine, inpatient, and urgent incoming nuclear medicine orders. Actively participating in the department's physician peer review process. Fulfilling all facility wide required training in the online system (TMS) and face-to-face, as directed. Acting as Authorized User for Service when needed. Participating in Tumor Boards and Morbidity & Mortality Conferences. Contributing to the Service's Quality Control and Safety Plan. Providing occasional teaching and training for medical trainees and house staff. Interacting with other Services and Providers to answer questions and prioritize services. Participating in research and quality improvement activities, per workload and availability. Providing after hours and weekend call coverage. Medical Staff Functions: Participate in Nuclear Medicine and general medical staff meetings, committee assignments, compliance, and other components of an organized medical staff.
