Physician - Otolaryngologist
VA Central California Health Care System is currently seeking a full-time Physician - Orthopedic Surgeon. The incumbent reports to the Service Chief of the Surgical Service team. This position is critical to the VA's mission to provide high-quality, Veteran-centered care.

The Otolaryngologist will provide consultation and care for our patients in the Department of Surgery. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Evaluates and treat patients for any disease that needs ENT surgery and/or treatment to achieve palliation or cure. Screen outpatients and inpatients to determine need for further care. Performs initial histories and physical examinations on inpatients and outpatients, as well as major and minor surgical procedures. Prescribe medications, order diagnostic studies such as lab tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms (EKGs) and CT scans. Provides educational instruction and training for UCSF Fresno residents/fellows assigned to Surgery rotations at the VA, and makes sure that the robust educational curriculum is followed to meet the educational needs of post-graduate training program. Meets the needs of customers while supporting the medical center and service missions. Consistently communicates and treats customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all medical center staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Provide on call coverage as determined by Service Chief. Other duties as assigned.
