Is responsible for providing primary ENT care to veterans. This includes, but is not limited to, diagnosing, treating and managing all ENT diseases/injuries. Will participate in resident training and will hold a faculty appointment with our academic affiliates. Input on staff effectiveness and individual Performance Evaluations will be obtained by the Chief of Surgical Service.

Assures that a high degree of quality patient care is always provided. 2. Independently exercise creativity in solving problems without direct supervisory guidance to meet the varying needs of patients while under care in the ENT Clinic. 3. Exercises independent professional judgment in diagnosing the full range of complex ENT conditions as well as planning and executing the necessary treatment programs to meet complex and frequent changes in treatment objectives. 4. Refers, when indicated, patients with multiple health problems to other providers within the facility and the VISN. Consults with physicians and others, when requested, to augment the care of their patients as it relates to emergent and traumatic conditions as well as ENT manifestations of systemic conditions. 5. Utilizes the general clinical privileges which include: ordering diagnostic tests as appropriate, writing prescriptions for medications or other items on the hospital formulary, hospitalized patients within the VISN as appropriate and discharge patients from outpatient care if it is determined that care is no longer required. 6. Assumes responsibilities for directing work for the ENT residents and mid-levels. Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 0700-1530 with variances and on call duties.
