Summary
Treats patients with acute and chronic pain using integrative methods, interventional procedures, and consults with other healthcare providers at a military treatment facility.
About the Position: This position is located at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Responsible for the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients who are referred primarily for comprehensive pain management and/or a functional restoration program in an outpatient setting and/or in an inpatient setting.
Implement integrative treatments such as acupuncture, manual medicine, nutritional and lifestyle advice, other complementary and alternative medicine methods, etc., within recognized professional practice parameters.
Serve as a specialty consultant to other departments, services, and health-care providers for a variety of diseases and conditions marked by acute and chronic pain.
Order, collect, and perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures and studies including, but not limited to, urine, blood, and tissue specimens.
Oversee, teach, lecture, mentor, and provide consultation to other health care providers (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, therapists, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows).
Perform a full spectrum of interventional pain procedures such as epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablations, sympathetic blocks etc. utilizing fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance
