Participates in all activities pertinent to the pain management program Evaluates and treats patients with pain and assist with our institution's efforts towards comprehensive, effective, and safe pain management for our veterans. Treats opioid use disorder with Medication Assisted Therapy medications, collaborating with our Addiction Specialist, and seeing patients for opioid risk mitigation. Provides comprehensive chronic pain evaluation and treatment recommendations in formal consultations and e-consultations. S/he is expected to order and review laboratory and other tests when appropriate. Independently uses professional judgement and expertise to make decisions about services and treatment provided to veterans and their significant others/family members. Coordinates collegially with other pain staff to develop and implement chronic pain treatment plans. Interacts with Mental Health, Primary Care, and specialty providers, addressing policy implementation, and providing clinical administrative oversight. Must be competent in the management of the opioid and non-opioid treatment modalities and prescribing with use of the state prescription drug monitoring system. All other duties are assigned, pertaining to this occupation, to meet the needs of the Agency, Department, Facility, and/or Service. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
