Position Summary
Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Neurologist to join the growing team at Wellstar Pediatric Center. This physician will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient neurological care to infants, children, and adolescents with a broad range of neurologic disorders.
The ideal candidate will be committed to clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and delivering compassionate care to children and their families while contributing to the continued growth of pediatric specialty services throughout the Wellstar system.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions.
- Provide care for a wide range of disorders including:
- Epilepsy and seizure disorders
- Headaches and migraines
- Neuromuscular disorders
- Developmental and behavioral neurological conditions
- Movement disorders
- Cerebral palsy
- Neurogenetic disorders
- Sleep disorders
- Concussion and traumatic brain injury
- Interpret and manage diagnostic testing including EEGs, neuroimaging, and other neurologic evaluations.
- Collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists, primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and advanced practice providers.
- Participate in inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic services.
- Support quality improvement and clinical excellence initiatives.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and long-term disease management.
- Participate in teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, and other learners as applicable.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Neurology Fellowship.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Neurology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Georgia.
- DEA certification or eligibility.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
